TikTok has removed 5 million videos from Bangladesh
From April to June this year, TikTok has removed around 5 million videos from Bangladesh. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar recently disclosed this information on his verified Facebook ID. There he writes, 'TikTok has started listening'. The minister also shared a screenshot with the post.
According to the minister's post, TikTok published the 'Community Guidelines Enforcement Report' on September 28. It is said that 49 lakh 74 thousand 838 videos have been removed from Bangladesh. Of these, TikTok removed 99.2 percent of videos on its own initiative. 96.1 percent of videos were removed within 24 hours and 96.3 percent of videos were removed before any views.
In a report, TikTok said, TikTok regularly takes action against content and accounts that violate its terms of service. Apart from this, they publish such reports out of a sense of responsibility towards the users.
Earlier, from January to March of the year, 34 lakh 75 thousand 456 videos of Bangladesh were removed by TikTok. Bangladesh ranks 6th in the list of top 30 video removal countries. The top four countries are – USA, Pakistan, Philippines and Indonesia.
According to the report, from April to June of this year, TikTok removed a total of 11 crore 38 lakh 9 thousand 300 videos. It removed 89.1 percent of videos by self-starter, 74.7 percent before any views, and 83.9 percent within 24 hours.
In addition, 3 crore 36 lakh 32 thousand 58 fake accounts have been removed. 2 crore 5 lakh 75 thousand 56 accounts were removed due to suspicion of under 13 years of age. At the same time, 52 lakh 22 thousand 968 other contents were removed.
It may be noted, Bangladesh ranks sixth in the list of top 30 countries for removing videos. The top five countries are USA, Pakistan, Philippines and Indonesia.
